About the Senior Field Service Specialist Role:
A successful Senior Field Service Specialist understands the lighting controls requirements of a project and can provide startup, troubleshooting, and end-user training for lighting control systems by reviewing construction documents and engineers’ specifications. The Senior Field Service Specialist can easily interpret construction floor plans to ensure system installation meets the end user’s expectations. The Senior Field Service Specialist has the expertise to handle complex situations and work with both internal and external contacts to provide solutions and complete projects.
When not traveling for primary responsibilities, the Senior Field Service Specialist will also assist with phone-based technical and sales support to both internal and external customers such as electrical contractors, sales agents, end users, etc. This support may involve help desk as well as scheduled field service support calls. They will be involved in training (internal and external) related to field programming, start-up/commissioning, and troubleshooting alongside our training team. They will work with engineering to address field concerns and provide data that help drive product solutions.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Performs on-site lighting and controls startup, troubleshooting, and end-user training
- Provides virtual lighting and controls startup, troubleshooting, and end-user training
- Serves as a technical resource to both internal and external customers
- Provides engineering support and communicates cross-functionally with all departments
- Possesses and maintains a solid understanding of SENSORWORX controls product portfolio as well as competitor products
Qualifications & Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant technical experience
- 5 years with degree or 10 years without degree experience in related field
- Expert understanding of lighting controls systems
- Experience using design software such as AutoCAD and/or Bluebeam a plus
- Basic knowledge of electrical wiring and circuitry
- Experience reading and interpreting electric plans, construction, and engineering documents
- Prior experience communicating technical information to both technical and non-technical audience
- Demonstrated history of working both independently and within a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable in an environment where working in close collaboration across various teams and departments is essential
- Willingness to learn and work on tasks outside of this role’s “Key tasks and responsibilities” as the business requires
Travel Requirements:
- Up to 50% Travel (weekdays only)
- Travel within 48 contiguous states
