Overview
During normal operation, SENSORWORX emergency power packs switch on/off emergency power to connected lighting as directed by wired sensors, photocells, and wall stations. If it senses the loss of normal power feeding the devices it is connected to, it will override its relay closed within 5 seconds and remain in that state until normal power is restored. The unit’s 0-10V dimming option greatly simplifies applications where dimming control from multiple switch locations is required. Upon loss of normal power, this dimming output will be held at full bright. This SENSORWORX emergency power pack is rated to switch circuits up to 16A and utilizes a powerful microprocessor to optimize its switch timing, ensuring long relay life even when controlling high-inrush LED lighting.
Basic Operation
An input signal indicating loss of power from one or more connected sensors will signal the pack’s integrated relay to close. Once closed, line voltage will flow through the relay and turn on the connected lighting load. When the input signal indicates that power has been restored, the relay will open and lighting will switch off. This pack is also available with an auxiliary switch input to enable emergency control of spaces with switch control.
Applications
The SENSORWORX Emergency power pack (SWD-900-EM-D1/D2) has the additional certification for UL924 usage and functionality since it is fed from a circuit fed with emergency backed up power. If there is a loss in normal power it will no longer sense +VDC on its red class 2 input wire that is provided by other power packs powered from normal power. As a result, it will override its internal relay on and make its dimming output (if present) full bright within 5 seconds. During the emergency state it will not be controlled by any other connected devices and shall stay on until normal power is restored.
Applications can be easily deployed to meet the requirements such as, Occupancy, Vacancy, Partial On, and Partial Off. In addition, Daylight Harvesting and multi-way dimming/switching.
